Gathering around him an enthusiastic group of like-minded people and receiving funding from a number of businesses and grant schemes,
Allan steered the fledgling Society from a membership of 37 in early 2001 to 600+ by 2016.
In 2010 Allan received a Civic Award for services to Adult Education and Computer Literacy for his work with SeniorNet Mac.
Many of the people who supported the newly founded SeniorNet Mac have been awarded Life Memberships for their
long-term commitment and service to the Society.
Current Life Members are:
Brian Henderson (2007); Barbara Blowes current President (2011); Margaret Harvey (2012); Win Waterhouse (2013); Margaret Hatton (2015); Robin Harrington (2017) and Erika White (2022)
