Getting Started in OS X (8 hr). The notes cover basic functions of Mac computers. including mouse skills, working with menus, icons and the dock, as well as basic introductions to Mail, Safari, Address Book, Time Machine, iCal and Calculator. There are also brief descriptions of iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, Garage Band, iWeb and iTunes . Currently there are five versions of the notes : OS X 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion)
Switchers’ Guide (8 hr) is a course designed for people who are familiar with computing on a PC who have switched to a Mac. It deals with similarities and differences between the two operating systems.
Mail (8 hr) deals with setting up this program on a Mac computer and it includes sending, receiving, saving, forwarding, replying to, and printing email messages. Mailboxes, attachments, junk mail, web-mail, RSS, parental controls, address book and iCal in relation to Mail are discussed in detail. Versions of the notes cover Mail v1, v3 and v4
Safari and the World Wide Web (8 hr) is an introduction to the internet in general and Safari in particular. It includes setting up Safari, modems, bookmarks, cookies, history, Google, security, online trading, widgets, web-mail, RSS, internet forums, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, MobileMe and iDisk. Versions of the notes cover Safari v2, v3, v4 and v5.
Pages (8 hr) This course includes a basic introduction to word-processing techniques and creating, importing and saving Pages documents. Templates, fonts, the Inspector, styles, lists, breaks, sections, text-boxes, objects, Tables Of Contents, merge fields, printing and password protection are all discussed. There are two versions of the notes covering Pages v3 and v4.
Bean (8 hr) is a third party word-processing program that is free for download on the internet. The course includes a basic introduction to word-processing techniques and creating, importing saving and printing Bean documents. Templates, fonts, the Inspector, the character palette, lists, manipulating objects, preferences, columns, saving to other formats, and manipulating documents are all covered in the course notes.
Microsoft Word for Mac. (8 hr) is a course designed mainly for those members who have previously used a Windows computer and are already familiar with the PC version of Microsoft Word. There are three versions of the course covering MS Word 2004, 2008 and 2011.
Numbers (8 hr) is the spreadsheet program in the iWork suite. The course notes (Numbers v2) cover a basic introduction to spreadsheets, creating, importing and printing Numbers spreadsheets, using formulae and functions, the Inspector, formatting, referring, searching and advanced techniques.
Address Book (4 hr) covers setting up Address Book, adding and deleting contacts, adding custom fields, birthdays, group folders, vCards, printing mailing labels, envelopes and lists and using Address Book with other programs. There are three versions covering Address Book v3, v4, v5 and v6.
iCal (4 hr). The course includes an overview, setting preferences, adding events and To-do items to a calendar, birthdays, multiple calendars, setting an alarm, exporting and importing, synchronising with other devices, printing and sharing calendars, invitations and attendees. v5.
Bento (4 hr) is a third party database program that may be purchased on the internet. The course covers using Bento, creating libraries, templates, collections, field and data types, searching, sorting, exporting libraries and using the iCal, Address Book and iPhoto libraries contained in Bento.
iPhoto (8 hr). The course covers camera settings, resolution, importing images, scanning, sending and receiving images in Mail, albums, smart albums, crop, straighten, zoom, red eye, printing and burning to Cd or DVD. There are versions of the notes for iPhoto 08. 09 and 11

The above notes are generally they are designed for either four two-hour classes or two two-hour classes (i.e. They contain about 40 pages or 20 pages of notes respectively)
